Vaillant, the leading heating technologies manufacturer, has launched an extensive range of BIM – (Building Information Modelling) files for the Vaillant product portfolio.
As part of the Government Strategy to transition to BIM by the end of 2016, Vaillant will be making all BIM files freely available through their website and ‘bimstore’, the renowned UK BIM directory.
For more than 140 years, Vaillant has been setting the standards in the heating market, creating products that have revolutionised the industry. The availability of BIM files is an important step for Vaillant, which has quality and excellent service at its core. One of the main focus points to using BIM is to assist those involved in construction and infrastructure to reduce risks and abortive costs, which cannot always be anticipated prior to work being undertaken. The use of BIM files will help to deliver added value to the entire supply chain through streamlined processes and will reduce overall costs to provide greater clarity.
The launch of Vaillant’s BIM portfolio aligns with the company’s mission to deliver efficient, flexible and sustainable products. Detailed data within each BIM file helps to determine fuel cost savings, seasonal performance factors and contributes to determining the overall building efficiency, all of which is vital to aid end clients in understanding the expectations of a proposed design and appreciate important aspects to facilitate key decisions prior to install.
Vaillant has taken its approach to BIM one step further to incorporate the option of viewing products in augmented reality when using the ‘bimstore Eye app’. All BIM files contain complete and detailed product specifications, schematics, 2D views and dedicated email support from Vaillant.
Steve Keeton – Technologies and Marketing Director at Vaillant, commented: “Vaillant is continually dedicated to supporting its customers throughout the supply chain and the introduction of our new BIM portfolio will assist those involved with the design and construction of buildings and integrated systems. Our approach to sustainability meant that we began work on developing our BIM portfolio early on as we realised the potential BIM offers to reduce waste and costs, which is better for both the client and the long-term impact on the environment.”
